About Afrika Botanicals
Afrika Botanicals is a South African supplier and exporter of premium African cosmetic lipid oils.
We specialise in a focused portfolio of cold-pressed African oils selected for quality, functionality, stability and traceable origin. Our core range includes Marula, Baobab, Kalahari Melon, Mongongo, Ximenia and Rosehip Seed Oil, together with selected specialist oils and butters.
Our supply network extends across Southern Africa. We work closely with producers, processors and wild-harvesting communities at origin, giving us direct insight into production, quality, batch selection and export readiness.
This close involvement enables us to offer our customers consistent quality, traceability and reliable commercial supply.
We focus particularly on the parameters that matter to cosmetic formulators: fatty acid composition, oxidation stability, free fatty acid and peroxide values, filtration, clarity and batch consistency.
Marula is our flagship oil. Through our close relationship with production, we can offer different processing specifications and select batches according to customer requirements, including oils with exceptionally low free fatty acid and peroxide values.

Our Approach
Our model is built on focus, direct relationships and supply-chain knowledge.
We are not a general raw-material trader. We specialise in a deliberately focused portfolio of African cosmetic lipid oils and butters where we have established supply relationships, knowledge of origin and the ability to support commercial volumes.
This focus allows us to understand the products we supply, their production methods and our customers’ technical requirements.
Origin
Afrika Botanicals is based in the Western Cape, South Africa, with supply relationships extending across Southern Africa.
Our portfolio is centred on oils derived from African plant species, including materials obtained through established wild-harvesting networks and specialist processors. We work directly with producers and supply partners to maintain traceability and understand how each oil moves from its source to the finished product.
Responsible harvesting, sustainable use of indigenous plant resources and economic participation within producing communities are important parts of these supply chains.
We are also actively evaluating additional African lipid oils with potential for cosmetic formulation and international commercial supply. We add new products selectively, not simply to expand the range.
Quality & Traceability
Traceability and documentation are fundamental to our supply model.
Depending on the product and specification, our oils are:
- Cold-pressed or mechanically extracted
- Unrefined unless otherwise specified
- Selected for stability, clarity and formulation performance
- Supplied with batch-specific or representative Certificates of Analysis
- Supported by relevant technical and regulatory documentation
Where appropriate, batches can be selected to meet specific customer requirements for parameters such as free fatty acid value, peroxide value, filtration or other agreed specifications.
Afrika Botanicals manages packaging, storage and export handling to protect oil quality throughout the supply chain.
