About Afrika Botanicals
Afrika Botanicals is a South African supplier and exporter of premium, cold-pressed African botanical oils.
We specialise in a curated range of high-performance African carrier oils, selected for stability, functionality and traceable origin. Our core portfolio includes Marula, Baobab, Kalahari Melon, Mongongo, Ximenia and Rosehip Seed Oil. The former are sourced from indigenous African plant species, with Rosehip included as a locally adapted, performance-driven oil. These oils are all produced to preserve full bioactive integrity.
Our role extends beyond supply.
We are closely integrated with origin-processing and harvesting networks across Southern Africa, contributing to quality control, batch selection and export readiness. This ensures consistency, traceability and supply reliability at scale.
We operate at the premium end of the market, with particular emphasis on oil stability, clarity and performance. Theseare key factors in advanced cosmetic formulation. Our flagship Marula oil, for example, is selected and processed toachieve exceptionally low free fatty acid and peroxide values, setting a benchmark for quality in its category.
Our Approach
Our model is built on focus, integration, and discipline.
We do not operate as a general trader of raw materials.
Instead, we work with a deliberately narrow range of botanicals where we have:

Beyond our core carrier oils, we selectively support a limited range of complementary products, including strategic oils, signature essential oils and a small number of botanical actives. These products meet the same performance and sourcing criteria. These remain tightly controlled and secondary to our core oil portfolio.
Sourcing is conducted through established networks of wild harvesters and processors across Southern Africa, with an emphasis on responsible harvesting practices and long-term sustainability of indigenous plant species.
Quality & Traceability
Every batch is managed with full traceability from origin to export.
We supply oils that are:
- Mechanically extracted (cold-pressed)
- Unrefined and additive-free
- Selected for performance, stability, and clarity
- Supported by batch-specific documentation
Where required, we manage batch selection or blending to meet volume and specification requirements, supported by representative Certificates of Analysis.
Packaging and handling are designed to preserve product integrity, including controlled storage conditions and inert-gas flushing, with argon as the standard and nitrogen available on request.
